Introducing L.L. Pendleton

TL.L.PENDLETON, artist

Lorne’s art includes impressions of landscapes in Saskatchewan, Alberta, B.C. and the Canadian Northwest Passage. His main art interest is exploring abstract art..

He has participated in a number of art shows in Edmonton and surrounding communities.

Lorne’s interest in fine art started with a brief meeting in Kleinburg with A. Y. Jackson just before his passing.

At Art & Design Studios, a large commercial art studio in Toronto, he worked with Jack Bush’s former art studio partner, Les Woolkey. Also at A&DS was Robert J. Anderson, a watercolour landscape artist. He casually followed Canadian abstract artists working in the 1970s and 1980s.

Volunteering for 5-years as a member of the Mendel Art Gallery (now the Remai Modern) acquisition committee in Saskatoon offered experience to work with a leading international professional art curator, Mathew Teitelbaum, as his career was launching. This was an important influence.

Lorne worked in Toronto, Saskatoon, and Vancouver advertising agencies for 25 years, specializing in tourism.

Now, Lorne is completing his fine art certificate at the University of Alberta Extension. His studio is in the Village of Spring Lake, Alberta.
